Brio Living Services Shore to Shore Walk
Encourages Team Members to Get Moving!
In celebration of April’s Active for Life Month, Brio Living Service’s Wellness Program will hold its third annual Walking Challenge! The goal of this challenge is to see how many times our team members can walk shore to shore across Michigan during the month of April. Team members who want to participate should track the number of miles they walk per day and email their mileage every Friday to Jessica Finley, Human Resources Benefits and Project Manager for Brio Living Services. At the end of the month, we will see how far we’ve gone together!
“Studies have shown that sharing your physical goals with your friends and loved ones has a positive impact on the success rate of reaching them,” says Jessica. “As the weather gets warmer, we hope this will motivate our team members to unplug and spend some quality time outside with their friends and family.”
Need some motivation to get started? Walking has many benefits to your health. Walking reduces your risk of cancer and chronic disease and increases your cardiovascular fitness. Walking is also beneficial for your mental health. In addition, walking can help reduce anxiety and depression and boost your overall mood. It even improves your quality of sleep.
Here at Brio Living Services, we strive to encourage a healthy work/life balance. In addition to the Walking Challenge, Brio will provide a variety of upcoming community events throughout the State of Michigan that our team members can participate in. Come join in the fun!
