Residents and staff of UMRC’s Thome Rivertown Neighborhood in Detroit enjoyed a sunny afternoon of food, music, and dancing at this year’s 4th annual Block Party on June 8! Members of the UMRC Foundation team were among the volunteers who helped make the day a success.
“The older adults we serve at Rivertown look forward to this event each year,” says Julia Szuper, Executive Director of Thome Rivertown Assisted Living. “It is the perfect time for residents to spend time outside with their friends, enjoy favorite picnic foods, and just have fun!”
One of the priorities of UMRC Foundation’s Growing to Serve campaign is the Resident Services Fund for Rivertown’s Assisted Living residents. “This fund will help provide items that are essential to our residents’ quality of life,” explains Julia. These include medical equipment, basic home furnishings and linens, exercise equipment to stay active, and more.
