Celebrating Valentine's Day - Just For Fun!
Valentine’s Day doesn’t just have to be for romance. It can also be a fun day to spend with friends and taking the time to appreciate loved ones around you. No matter what your situation is, here are some fun ways to celebrate the day to liven up your February:
- Chocolate tasting! Find a local bakery or chocolate shop and try out a variety of different treats. Invite your friends over, make reservations at a restaurant or at your Brio community dining venue, and see which chocolates you and your friends like best!
- Challenge your brain! Purchase a “love” themed puzzle or activity book. Challenge yourself, or invite a friend to help you, complete a jigsaw puzzle, word search, or brain game of your choice!
- You’re never too old for Valentine’s! No matter your age, everyone enjoys receiving a silly Valentine’s Day card! You can create your own at home with magazine scraps, blank cards on hand, or purchase them pre-made. Take time to write your loved ones notes about how much you appreciate them. These efforts will truly brighten someone’s day.
- Treat yourself! Valentine’s Day is the perfect day for self-care. Don’t hesitate to spoil yourself, too! Buy fresh flowers for your home, schedule an appointment for a massage or salon appointment – whatever will make you feel your best!
- Appreciate a peer or someone who has helped you! Take time to nominate a Brio Living Services team member for a Promoting Our Mission (POM) Award! It always feels nice to receive a little extra recognition! You can submit a nomination here.
- Try a new recipe. Valentine’s Day can be the perfect day to finally try that new baking recipe you didn’t have a reason to attempt. Be sure to share it with your friends and loved ones!
We at Brio Living Services challenge you to make Valentine’s Day a fun opportunity to embrace gratitude and loved ones in your life! If you live in a community, take advantage of our services, or work with us, we encourage you to find unique ways to enjoy this day.
On behalf of all of Brio, we would like to take this time to express our heartfelt appreciation to our residents, participants, elders, family members, and team members. All of you play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission of Welcoming all, partnering together, enriching lives every day.
