Share Your Story This Holiday Season and Leave Your Legacy
One of Dave Isay’s earliest memories involves capturing the stories of his grandparents and great aunts on a small cassette recorder (remember those?). He turned his love of stories into a vocation as founder of StoryCorps, an organization that has recorded stories from more than 600,000 people and preserved them at the Library of Congress. Many of these stories are shared between family members and friends, ranging from serious to side-splitting and everything in between.
Each of us has a story to tell about our lives, the things we are passionate about, and the values we hold dear. As you gather with loved ones this holiday season, take advantage of opportunities to share your story and leave your legacy.
- Talk about traditions and preserve memories.
- Interview a loved one—or yourself.
- Capture stories and turn them into a keepsake book or video.
- Have a thoughtful impact on others by sharing the causes that are at the heart of your story!
Many of you have been a part of Brio Living Services’ story for years or even generations! We are grateful for your part in OUR story!
If you haven’t yet this year, there’s still time to make your 2023 year-end gift to the causes you care about—like the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation. Or consider how you can leave your legacy by including a gift in your will. Your gifts to the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation are a meaningful way to share what is important to you with your family and loved ones, while making a difference in the lives of older adults.
Make a secure online donation to the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation! Your gift to the Benevolent Care Fund, both east and west, will be DOUBLED to make your kindness go TWICE as far! Or contact us to learn more!
On behalf of the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation, we wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and blessings of joy, peace, and health in the New Year!
