Celebrate the Season of Gratitude with Ways to Give Back
Giving Tuesday is just around the corner on November 28! During this season of gratitude, Giving Tuesday is a special day that offers the opportunity to look for ways to give back in our communities or to assist with causes we care about. Giving back can look different for each person, depending on each individual’s resources, interests, and skills. Whether volunteering at a local food pantry, writing a handwritten card to show your gratitude, or making a gift to your favorite charity, your thoughtfulness means the world to that recipient and can have a ripple effect that goes farther than you know.
There are many ways to show your support of the older adults—of all income levels—whom we serve at Brio Living Services. Throughout November, we have been featuring the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation’s four Fundraising Pillars—Benevolent Care, our cornerstone, ensuring our qualified residents always have a home at our Brio Living Services communities; Team Member Support Services, offering competitive Scholarships and Emergency Aid; Capital Improvements, providing the best possible environments to live and work; and Life Enrichment programming that offers meaning and purpose for the older adults we serve. Your gifts to any of these funds provides joy and caring, helping older adults live their best lives—regardless of their income.
For example, your gift to the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation Benevolent Care Fund this year can be a Godsend to our residents who have outlived their savings. You can make a gift of $45 or more in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one through the Foundation’s Tree of Life initiative, while also supporting Benevolent Care. An ornament with their name and yours will be placed on our Tree of Life at one of our Brio Living Services communities. Best of all, your gift will be DOUBLED—by an anonymous donor on the east and by a generous grant from Huntington Bank on the west! Your kindness will go TWICE as far!
Opportunities to volunteer abound as well across our 23 locations and service lines at Brio Living Services. Volunteers play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for the older adults we serve and help us achieve our mission of caring. Learn how you can enrich the lives of others—and yourself—by being a volunteer!
Each of us has something to give to support Brio’s mission: Welcoming all, partnering together, enriching lives. Visit our website or call 734.433.1000 ext. 7502 (east) or 616.577.2297 (west) to learn more.
From all of us at Brio Living Services and the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation, we wish you and your family a blessed holiday season!
